The Rocket Science Group is a team of nerds based in Atlanta, Georgia that specializes in web-based tools and applications. We started our company back in April 2000 to help companies build "complicated stuff." We built intranets, websites, microsites, content management solutions, and web apps (before they were called "web apps") for clients like The Arthritis Foundation, Coca-Cola Enterprises, Cox Radio Interactive, Delta Airlines, Skanska, BBDO, and Worldspan.

In 2001, we launched MailChimp, a do-it-yourself online service that makes email marketing easy (and a little fun). It's packed with powerful email marketing features like those bloated email systems built for large corporations, but we've made everything easy enough for small businesses to use. Since then, MailChimp has grown organically and profitably to over 15,000 customers from all over the globe (such as Mozilla Firefox, Harvard, American Airlines, and more), who manage over 60,000 lists containing over 70 million subscribers.

In 2006, we officially stopped providing web design services, and focused our efforts entirely on MailChimp. When we're not speaking at An Event Apart, or out sponsoring fancy TechCrunch parties, we're usually in the lab experimenting with cool new ways to make the intertubes more useful.
